gifts for 5 year old boys.
55A Gift That Will Last
I may have a suggestion for you. I am in a similar situation where I must get my three grandsons, Kegan, 7 years old, Caleb, 2 years old, and Carson 1 years old. I want to select a gift for each child that can be kept and used for many more years to come. They all have more toys to play with than they know what to do with. So the last thing that they need is another toy.
I remember back when I was raising my three children. One year I bought my youngest daughter, Brooke, a "Flip Chair." With the Flip Chair she could sit and watch TV. Or she could roll it out like a sleeping bag and take a nap. It was a solid color. Believe it or not, she still has it! She is 24, an elementary school teacher, and a graduate of LSU. That gift must have been a special gift because she used it everyday of her adolencent years.
So I want to get each of my grandsons a Flip Chair. They must be different from each other or fighting will ensue between the boys. They have some really cute smaller Chairs for $30.00 at Wal-mart that are themed based, like Batman, Superman, Cars, Etc. They will make great gifts for the two youngest boys, Caleb and Carson. But these smaller Flip Chairs will probably be too small for Kegan, my seven year old grandson. So I saw online at Wal-mart.com they had a larger Flip Chair, solid color, for $70.00. That size will be ideal for Kegan, but at $70.00 each that will be too much to spend for three boys, one gift each.
This is just a suggestion now. If this gift turns out to be liked anything like the one I bought my daughter then this gift should outlast most of the toys that these boys will receive for Christmas this year, and for years to come.
Good luck with your decision and my husband, Ken and I wish you a Merry Christmas. Best of luck to you and continued success for the new year, sincerely Susan
